Abstract

Should the African society not become concerned that many urban African families are today so exposed to the media (television, com­puters, music/ film industries and ad\eitisrng1 that they are losing some of their viral cultural values. It would be naive for any Africa to simply consider television (T\) and other modern entertainment forms /movies, magazines. The Internet, etc) as harmless fun. Worse than naivete is to regard all the activities of the media in Africa today as simply fostering development and helping African culture undergo necessary and useful changes for a global age of technology ....
