Abstract

The scope of the paper is limited by the amount of contact with the individualinformants and Christian communities I was able to get in touch with in the space ofthree weeks. Most of the material has these as its sources along with my ownreflection and some relevant reading. A list of informants and Christian communitiesvisited in the field research is provided at the end of the paper. In the first section of the paper, I will give a summary of findings of ethno-graphic interviews with people of different ethnic backgrounds regarding various aspects of African Religions. This will be reflected on against some published mate-rials in this field. The second section is a record of observations of aspects of African religions in Christian communities of the Maria Legio Church and the SCCs of Kangemi Catholic Parish. In the conclusion I will attempt a summary of some of the contributions and challenges that African Religion offers to Christian Communities in Kenya today
