Abstract

The African continent is an enigma. Africa is a continent of many paradoxes. Africa is the least developed continent and, yet, she
possesses enormous wealth that enriches other continents. Poverty is a synonymous term to Africa and yet her peoples sit on vast treasures buried in her land. Africa's human resources have helped build up empires for other peoples, while her own .kingdoms disintegrate because she lacks the very human resources to mobilize her own natural resources for development. From North to South, East to West of the continent, Africa's peoples are greatly diversified in their ways of living, and yet a great deal of homogeneity runs through the various cultures.
