Youth vulnerability to militia activities

Abstract

Youth have been depicted as the backbone of our society, hence guarding this human resource from destructive social ills is critical for the future. However, marginalizing an educated youthful population from mainstream political and socioeconomic welfare is a catalyst for civil chaos within a state. this article explores the youth bulge phenomenon, and the salient structural and social factors which influence youth participation in militia activities. this is more so during a global pandemic which has affected economic growth, and subsequent livelihood opportunities for the majority vulnerable youth.
