Ecclesiology in Times of Crisis: Rethinking the Church amid the COVID-19 Pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic has brought unprecedented changes to the world. Apart from necessitating many adjustments in the daily social life, it has also provoked existential questions. In the Church, scholars are considering how the pandemic has affected the Church as a worshipping community. The Church feels impelled to self-reflection on her own nature and identity given the closure of Churches due to measures to reduce further spread of infections. is article argues that while the pandemic may be considered as a recipe for ushering the Church into an identity crisis, it can also help the Church to understand herself better to be relevant during these unusual times. It argues that the coronavirus pandemic, if taken positively, can help the Church to adapt and be ever relevant in unprecedented situations.
