Abstract

This reflection is an attempt to come to a better understanding of the International Community. Two assumptions about the nature of the International Community are scrutinized, namely state-centric and people-centric international community. Each of these two models says something about the international community but none, taken on its own, embraces all the aspects of the International Community. As such, the way forward should be an overlapping interconnection between nation-states and non-state actors and between people across borders. But, above all theories, the International Community remains a task yet to be fully accomplished.
