Biblical View of Sex and Sexuality from African Perspective

Abstract

This book is a collection of 24 different, varied but rich themes on Sex and Sexuality by 24 authors presented at the conference of the Nigerian Association for Biblical Studies (Nabis) in Ibadan in 2005. Nowadays, one of the major areas of interest, concern and debate is sex and sexuality. Thousands of publications on this subject have been written. While some of them are helpful, others have only compounded the problem, leaving readers on matters of sex and sexuality more confused and perplexed than before. This book comes as an invaluable tool which tackles, from the Biblical point of view, those recurrent issues that surround sex and sexuality in an African context especially in the post modern era. Sex is a precious gift from God and is very central in the biblical narratives, both Old and New Testaments.
