AESTHETIC THEOLOGIZING: AFRICAN WISDOM WAY IN THE WIDER CONTEXT
Keywords:
AESTHETIC THEOLOGIZING, AFRICAN WISDOMAbstract
Theology as discourse on God brings together human experience and divine address in God’s other of salvation. Like others, the aesthetic method in theology is well-established through historical controversies in the Church. Greater attention is, however, required of its use in African theology since aesthetics, like religion, permeates African life as its deep philosophy. A second reason is the unresolved aspects of its encounter and dialogue with the wider context of Christianity: the question of credibility. The third is the common risks of human perception. These points find illustration in African Rhetoric.
