Abstract

Those who practice theology as a scholastic and pastoral discipline always find themeslves living in the midpoint of theory and praxis, where one fosters the other. Mercy Amba Oduyoye, in many theological circles, is viewed as the matriarch of African Women's Theology, and indeed she has been a theological voice echoing the anguish of Africa in general and the African woman in particular. I Introducing African Women's Theology, she refuses to allow the world to ignore the gradually worsening situation in Africa, as the continent sinks into the tragedy of Poverty, HIV/AIDS and debt crises.
