African Women Theologians and Synodality, Hekima University CollegeAbstract
African Women Theologians and Synodality is a timely and ambitious work emerging from an international conference hosted by Hekima University College (HUC) in March 2024 to mark its 40th anniversary. The volume gathers voices of women theologians and their collaborators from across Africa and the global Church to reflect on the meaning and practice of synodality today. More than a mere record of proceedings, the book serves as a theological statement that elevates African women’s contributions to the Church’s ongoing journey of communion, participation, and mission. It brings together academic insight, lived experience, and pastoral wisdom to show how women have long embodied synodality through their roles as caregivers, peacebuilders, and theologians.
