A synodal church in communion has a moral and ethical mission to participate in making the common home, the earth,
a better place by caring for the environment. The misuse of the ‘common home’ fractures human stewardship towards God’s creation.
Greed, bad governance, policies and poverty constitute the chief characteristics of the misuse of resources. The environment is entrusted to human responsibility. It needs to be used properly, protected, and responsibly cared for. Today, there is a need to develop a spirituality of caring and protecting the common home, which requires commitment towards resources. Responsible stewardship is a practical path to finding a lasting solution to these problems.
