The accelerating pace of technological development has intensified concerns about the stewardship and well-being of the environment. In this context, the Church advocates a holistic ecological approach rooted in transforming attitudes and relationships. Drawing on Pope Francis’s encyclical, Laudato Si’, which urges universal responsibility for ecological renewal and rejects the notion of absolute human domination over creation, this article explores humanity’s status and role in the broader ecosystem. Through an exegetical study of Psalm 24:1-2, the discussion affirms that the earth and all it contains belong to God. It argues that humans, as part
of an intricate network of relationships within creation, have a distinct role in safeguarding the world’s welfare. The analysis underscores the moral imperative of conscientious environmental care and emphasises collective responsibility for promoting peace and flourishing across the planet.
